BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – WA

Since the age of 7 I’ve always wanted to go to an island. That was also the age I learnt that island has a silent ‘s.’ Imagine saying “is-land” to your relatives where it ends up as a family joke and haunts you till you’re sixty. Anyway, when we went to Washington three months back my family and I got a chance to take a ferry to a nearby island. It was also my first time travelling on a ferry and I loved every bit of it. When we reached the island we had the choice of renting a cycle or booking a cab but we decided to walk to the nearby town. Filled with tiny antique shops, bookstores and restaurants there honestly couldn’t be anything better than this. My dad and I went to every shop possible and ate as many ice creams as we could. The scented candles filled the air and immediately lightened up our mood. We were also surprised to find an Indian restaurant which filled our stomachs. Overall, this is one the best experiences I’ve ever had.
